Teaching with a specialist module.

Advanced Monitoring modules add a focused view to the standard monitor. This hub covers the common workflow; each available module has its own operational chapter.

When to use an advanced module

Choose an advanced module because it serves a specific learning objective — not because a session needs more numbers. Most teaching runs on the standard monitor; a specialist surface earns its place when the objective is about reading that particular signal.

Common workflow

  1. Engage and configure. The instructor brings the module up from the controller — for processed EEG that is an explicit Enable action; for advanced haemodynamics, opening its section on the Advanced tab is itself the switch (the tab also holds the blood gas, so opening the tab alone engages nothing) — and sets the teaching picture.
  2. Present. A monitor can switch to the module's surface to show the class.
  3. Observe. Read-only observers follow the presented surface in the same room.
  4. Save. A scenario step captures the room's processed-EEG and haemodynamics state (mode, targets, line placement, faults, limits) and restores it as the step runs; device-local view preferences stay on each device. A blood gas is not carried by a step — save it by name instead.

Room-shared patient state (what the instructor sets) is distinct from device-local display preferences (how one monitor chooses to show it). Only the shared state is the same for everyone.

Advanced Monitoring modules are educational simulation. Where a module models a generic signal it is deliberately vendor-neutral, and it is never clinical equipment: nothing here diagnoses, guides treatment, or measures a real patient.
