What's new

What has changed, newest first. Each one links to its place in the guide.

  • Free ECG and blood gas generators

Make a printable 12-lead ECG at true scale, or an ABG or VBG result slip, without starting a session. Save it as a picture or PDF for handouts and quizzes. Tools, in the bar at the top and in the footer.

  • Drifts: vitals that change on their own

A vital moves to your target by itself over 1 to 15 minutes. Drift several together, pick the shape of the change, or start from a built-in set such as Bleeding or Sepsis. Advanced → Drifts on the controller. Built-in sets are for adult patients.

  • Breathing and capnography on the RR and EtCO₂ tiles

Hold the RR tile to set the breathing pattern, or EtCO₂ for the capnogram shape. The tile shows a tag when either isn't normal. Hold the RR or EtCO₂ tile on the Patient tab.

  • Controls laid out for tablets and computers

On a landscape tablet or a computer, the vitals stay on screen beside the presets, and the other tabs open alongside them. ⇄ swaps the sides for left- or right-handed use. Automatic when the screen is held in landscape. ⇄ and Fullscreen are at the top.

  • Posterior and right-sided leads

Learners can record V7–V9 or V3R–V6R on the 12-lead, to look for a posterior or right ventricular infarct. Chest leads, at the top of the monitor's 12-lead screen.

  • T-wave inversion and a clearer ECG tab

Add ischaemic T-wave inversion (anterior, inferior or lateral) and ST depression, alone or together, to build an NSTEMI. A line at the top of the 12-lead section now shows what is on it, with Reset beside it. The new Ischaemia section on the ECG tab.

  • Blood gases saved with a scenario

Keep up to five blood gases with a scenario. When you run it, they're waiting at the top of the blood gas panel, ready to release. With the scenario open in the builder, set up a gas in Advanced → Blood gas and tap Add to scenario.

  • Fewer interruptions

Most NAP updates no longer end your session. If the screens pause for a moment, they come back on their own. There is nothing you need to do.

  • Clearer traces on big screens

Traces now keep the same thickness on any screen, so a projector or large display is as easy to read as a laptop. Tablets and larger screens start with Bold. Traces, in the monitor's settings. You can still pick Normal, Bold or Heavy, and each screen remembers your choice.

  • Share a patient as a link

Copy any preset, or the patient you've just built, as a link. Opening it starts a session with that patient, or hands it to a controller you already have open. Copy link in the presets list on the Patient tab, or hold any preset.

  • See what every combination does

Pick a rhythm and any ECG settings to see the live trace, what isn't drawn, and the adenosine and shock results the controller will offer. The rhythm explorer, in the guide.

  • The WPW pattern

A short PR and a delta wave on a wide QRS. Pair it with AF for pre-excited AF: fast, broad and irregular, and adenosine can speed it up or tip it into VF. Conduction on the ECG tab; adenosine on the Therapy tab.

  • Brugada type 1

A coved ST in V1 and V2 running into a negative T, the classic STEMI mimic. It shows on the 12-lead. Metabolic & mimics on the ECG tab.

  • Scenarios are easier to find and build

Packs are labelled and stay chosen when you switch tabs, a Running line leads back to the scenario in progress, and Capture now comes first when you build. The Scenario tab on the controller.

  • All monitoring on or off

Attach or detach every patient probe in one tap. A new patient now starts with all of them attached. The two screen buttons beside the Vitals heading, on the Patient tab.

  • Presets take less room

Three presets of your choice sit on the Patient tab; every other preset, and the ones you saved, are one tap away. Pin the three you want, separately for adult and paediatric patients. The grid button beside the pinned presets, on the Patient tab.

  • Adenosine follows the rhythm

Results match the rhythm: SVT converts; flutter, atrial tachycardia and fast AF briefly slow to reveal themselves. Atrial tachycardia is now in the rhythm picker. Give adenosine… on the Therapy tab; atrial tach is on the ECG tab, after SVT.

  • Choose therapy results together

Co-instructors can choose shock and adenosine results; the lead’s choice takes priority. The result sheets on every instructor’s controller.

  • Set EtCO₂ during CPR

Choose an EtCO₂ value for the arrest and keep it when CPR stops and restarts. The toggle appears in the EtCO₂ tile on the controller’s Patient tab while CPR is running.

  • A closer look at the 12-lead

Open a captured 12-lead to fill the screen, then pinch to zoom in and read it. Double-tap a captured 12-lead, or tap Full view. On the monitor and on viewers.

  • Coarse or fine VF

VF looks more like the real thing, and it can now be fine: small and easy to mistake for asystole. Pick VF in the ECG tab, then Coarse or Fine.

  • Pulse button

A small heart shows whether the patient has a pulse. One tap takes it away or gives it back. On the controller, next to the CPR button.

  • Trends

See the last 15 minutes to an hour at a glance: heart rate, SpO₂, blood pressure, CO₂ and more. Tap Trends on the monitor.

  • Pause the scenario

Freeze every screen to talk something through, then carry on exactly where you stopped. The button is next to Adult/Paediatric.
